After the tragic death of her father, eighteen year old Layken Cohen moves to Michigan with her nine year old brother Kel and mother Julia. She’s acting all tough for her family but inside she’s breaking so badly. On her first day in Michigan, Layken meets her new neighbor Will Cooper, a twenty one year old handsome guy with only one little brother, Caulder, in his family.
Will has this amazing passion for slam poetry and he often performs some of his own at Club N9NE on Thursdays. Will’s personality impresses Layken and she starts to look forward to meeting him everyday.
Soon their lives took a dramatic turn and their hopes get crushed by the cruelty of life and once again Layken finds herself in the deep sea of sadness and loneliness. The girl who thought that life is giving her a chance to be happy becomes the girl who feels that she’s is never ending pain.
