Thirteen Reasons Why - Book Review

Being a bookworm is something that I cannot give up at any cost. It’s a craze one cannot end. My life is all about going to a bookstore and coming out with loads of books and never feeling sorry for it cause this is what I was born to do LOL. So when I started to hear about a novel by Jay Asher which is based on a girl who committed suicide, to be honest, I was not impressed. I’m more of a romantic novel lover and I am not exactly into stuff like suicide and investigative stories, which I thought this novel was about. Few time later I heard there’s a TV series coming based on the novel “Thirteen Reasons Why” and I was curious, I wanted to know what’s so interesting about this book and so you might have just guessed what I did. Yes, I bought it.

I cannot sum up the rush of emotions I felt while reading it and yes I totally remember that I said I was not impressed by the plot it was based on but to be very straight, sometimes I do judge a book by its name or cover, although this is like a crime that no book lover should ever commit. Like ever. But when I started reading it my overall point of view about the book was entirely changed and there it was, the special connection with this book.

Jay Asher explained that he got the idea of writing the story with both Hannah and Clay’s side when he was taking an audio tour at a museum. He was amazed by the fact that the women who was describing each and every detail about the place in the audio was not actually there with him at the museum and this is what he added as a special ingredient in his book which is basically his debut novel. Jay Asher is an American writer and the fact that his debut novel was the International Bestseller got me inspired.

So the book’s title clearly tells that there are 13 reasons inside the book which explain why Hannah Baker, the main female character, killed herself and how the Clay Jenson, the main male character, absorb these reasons and what are his reactions. Mostly, it’s easy for me to criticize or appreciate the books that I read but this one, I cannot find the perfect vocabulary to speak for. The way how Jay Asher managed to tell us about the both side of the story at the same time is just beyond perfect. It feels so complete to read the words and at the same time knowing what their effect was.

Clay Jenson’s character is somewhat an ideal one for many of us. The guy who is on everyone’s good books and a little shy around the girl that he likes. Hannah Baker, on the other hand, has everyone’s eyes on her. The girl with a reputation that’s so not good. In the story, the two of them seem so different from each other but wait until you hear the tapes and you’ll know what kind of twist this book holds for you.
It’s a complete package of love, emotions, trust, setbacks, destruction, friendship and hope. This novel holds so much to teach its readers about life and people. It’s not just the characters, it’s the story itself, the ups and downs and the ending. So yes, this will definitely help you understand about people and their feelings that they hide deep inside.

BECUTE Smooth Matte Mousse Foundation

Being a brown is like real struggle for many of us women. Half of the time we keep finding products to get fairer skin or remedies to even out our skin complexion, if not this, we keep changing products that we use in our daily make-up just to get the result that we desire. There's nothing to be ashamed of, if you want your skin to glow or your hairs to grow longer than they are. They are just your desires to look perfect, well obviously the 'perfect' we think is perfect. So like many of you I, myself, have been searching a product that can save me from my oily skin. I just wanted something, any foundation or base or like anything to get rid of the oil that my skin produces. Being a student of high school and spending whole day out in sun, especially in summers, is a nightmare obviously. I kept changing products and then one day I found this Smooth Matte Mousse Foundation (12 hours) by Becute and I swear its exactly what I was looking for. I applied it first day ...

Eleanor and Park Book Review

Eleanor & Park is the story of two star-crossed lovers written by Rainbow Rowell. Rainbow Rowell is one of my favorite writers. The magic she does with words is what every reader craves. She knows how to make her reader connect with the story and make them live it. The story is all about finding your first love and letting yourself get lost in the pleasure of being consumed by it. Rowell in an interview said "I've always, always wanted to write first love story. I feel like, when you're 16, you've the greatest ever capacity for romantic love. You fall in love with every cell of your body. But at the same time, at that age, you've so little to offer the person you love. You don't belong to yourself quite yet - you still have school & your parents, your own space - and you also know that what you're feeling probably won't last. First love usually doesn't. There's a built-in tragedy to falling (truly) in love when you're 16.It's ...
